Dar Ul-Isra provides a range of religious and community services to support Muslims in Cardiff through all stages of life. All services are delivered with dignity, compassion, and in accordance with Islamic principles.
Nikah (Islamic Marriage)
Dar Ul-Isra offers nikah (Islamic marriage) services conducted by our imam in a dignified and welcoming setting. Whether you are planning a simple ceremony or a larger celebration, we are here to help you begin your journey together in accordance with the Sunnah.
Requirements
- Both parties must consent freely to the marriage
- A wali (guardian) must be present for the bride, or authorisation provided
- Two adult Muslim male witnesses are required
- An agreed-upon mahr (dowry) must be specified
- Valid identification documents for both parties
- If either party was previously married, proof of Islamic divorce (talaq) or dissolution is required
Please get in touch at least 4 weeks before your preferred date to arrange a booking.
Please note: An Islamic nikah is a religious ceremony. It does not constitute a legal marriage under UK law. Couples should also register their marriage at a registry office to ensure full legal recognition and protection.

In the Event of a Death
Please contact the mosque as soon as possible at info@darulisra.org.uk. We will guide you through the necessary steps and help coordinate arrangements promptly. In Islam, burial should take place as soon as reasonably possible, and we will work with you to facilitate this.
